Getting on a plane is undeniably exciting as you would be heading to your travel destination, but it could sometimes be a problem when you do not know what to wear on the plane. Being on the plane is not the most comfortable experience (unless you usually go with "business class" or "first class" seating), as it is usually very cold, the seats are really narrow, and the seats are usually extremely stiff to sit on. But, if you know how to dress well for your own comfort, your journey on the plane would pass by like a breeze.

Tops

When you are on the plane, you do not want to wear something too tight as you’d probably want something that slides down your body so you would stay comfy. At the same time, try not to go with tank tops or tops where the material is too thin. Most of the time the planes are freezing and the last thing you want is to get cold whilst being on the plane. Some of the smartest tops you could wear are:

  • T-shirt

  • Sweater

  • Hoodie

Bottoms

You might think of wearing shorts to the airplane as they are more comfortable than long pants, but if you do wear shorts you would regret it a lot. Airplanes are always blasting their air-conditioning to the max and you wouldn’t want your legs to be numb and cold by the end of the flight. If you want to stay comfy and keep your legs alive, then go with:

Jeans

Sweatpants

Leggings

Shoes

Think of these things when you are planning on what to wear for shoes: you would be walking a lot from the entrance of the airport to immigration to the gates, your feet will be freezing when you are on the plane, and you want something that you can remove easily. With that few conditions, you know well not to wear heels, sandals, and boots. Those are the worst shoes you could wear on an airplane. Instead, go with these shoes:

  • Slip-Ons

  • Sneakers

  • Skater Shoes

  • Flats

Outerwear

Whether your destination is a cold or hot weather country, it is still wise to bring extra outerwear especially for the time on the flight. Some airplanes provide blankets, which are great as they give you an extra layering for warmth, but unfortunately, some planes do not. So just in case, the air-conditioning gets too cold or no blankets are provided, the best bet is for you to bring your own outerwear. These are some of the best outerwear you could bring:

  • Leather Jacket

  • Denim Jacket

  • Cardigan

  • Bomber Jacket
