There are many ways you can eat bread for breakfast, be it sandwiches, French toasts, or bread pudding, or any other ways you can think of. One of the most popular ways to eating it would be “open toasts,” meaning to top off a piece of bread with other food, and leaving it open without covering it with another piece of bread. If you love eating bread for breakfast but often find it difficult to finish the whole loaf in a week, here are some ideas for you to eat it the “open toast” way, different ideas for each day of the week, and best of all they are healthy as well.

Monday: Eggs

Since it is the first working day of the week, why not start off with something high in protein? Not only are they healthy, but they are also delicious, easy to prepare, and they are super versatile. You can scramble them, make hard-boiled eggs, or even take things up a notch and fry yourself a fried egg. Top them off with salt and pepper, or any other ingredients you feel like. You can totally get creative for Monday, and plus you will still get the protein needed to keep you energized for the day.

Tuesday: Avocado

Avocado is one of the most popular superfoods. If you had never tasted it before, it’s pretty much tasteless, or a better way to describe is that it tastes like grass. The texture of it is similar to butter, which is why though bread and butter taste good together, you should try replacing butter with avocado. Of course, there are many ways to eat avocado, aside from making it into a spread. You could slice it or make it into guacamole, the possibilities are endless!

  • Mashed Avocado, Cheese, and Pepper Flakes

Wednesday: Banana

Banana is tasty on its own, but have you tried it with bread? The combination is amazing! Just like avocado, you could slice it or mash it into a paste. Aside from that, you could also add some other toppings alongside to make this open toast combination even better. Try adding some peanut butter or fruit jam, this would change the whole game and you would want to eat this forever.

  • Banana Slices and Nuts

  • Banana Slices, Chocolate Spread, Marshmellow, and Chocolate Chips

  • Banana Slices, Chocolate Spread, Cream Cheese, Cocoa Powder, and Pumpkin Seeds

Thursday: Roasted Vegetable

After indulging in too many fruits, it’s time to add some vegetables into your diet for the week! If you are not a fan of having some fresh vegetables with bread, then you should totally try this out. Roasting vegetables in the oven would make the vegetable crunchier, tastier, and create this whole savory toast even more enjoyable! You could do this with carrots, Brussel sprouts, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, and so much more, whatever you desire!

  • Roasted Broccoli, Roasted Sweet Potato, Hemp Seed and Hummus

  • Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Goat Cheese, and Hummus

  • Roasted Asparagus, Scrambled Eggs, and sliced Spring Onion

  • Roasted Asparagus, Hummus, Cheese, and Walnuts

Friday: Animal Face

Finally, it’s Friday, and to end the week well, you can indulge in something fancier, which would even lift your mood while preparing it, and that is open toasts with an animal face on them. They usually cooperate with more berries, chocolate spread (try not to use Nutella), ham, apple or pear slices, and cream cheese. You can make whatever face you feel like, as long as the ingredients used are healthy, and you enjoy eating it.

So these are the 5 recipes for open toast that you can indulge in your weekdays, where you can be healthy, and at the same time, you wouldn’t be wasting any food anymore! Enjoying preparing and having your breakfast!
