7 Small Habits For Weight Loss

With our busy lifestyle these days, needing time to take a break is already difficult enough, let alone losing weight. We are all so caught up with our work that it seems like being healthy and losing weight seems like an unimportant thing in our minds. But, things don’t have to be like that. If we are willing to do some changes, try to adopt some healthy habits into our lifestyles, slowly by slowly we will be able to see good changes made in our body. So here are some of the small habits we can make in our lifestyles that will aid our weight loss.


1. Drink more water.

Water is not only free, they are also the healthiest drink you can ever consume. You don’t need fresh juices to stay fresh, or some fancy tea to stay healthy. If you stick to only drinking water, forget about all the unhealthy soft drinks, even those juices that were claimed “healthy” in no time you’ll feel more refreshed and healthy, and of course, the best part is that your pants will start to feel looser.


2. Use a smaller plate when eating.

Research has shown that our way of eating is easily influenced by our site. That is the power of illusion. If you compare eating using a big plate and a small plate containing the same amount of food, you’ll most likely feel much fuller using the small plate. Not only that, if you use a big plate you are able to put more food on it, whereas using a small plate will limit the amount of food you place on top of it.


3. Only buy healthy food.

When we are hungry, we have the tendency of eating any food that is in our sight. Sometimes even when we are bored we do that. If you are someone who tends to stock up on unhealthy junks at home, then it is time to say goodbye to them and instead, pile up on healthier snacks. You don’t really need to only buy vegetable and eat salad when you are hungry, you can try fruits as well, as fruits are tastier than vegetables, or keep some healthier alternatives to junk food.


4. Use the stairs instead of the lift.

If your school or work, even your apartment has both a lift and stairs, then for your weight’s sake just take the stairs for good. Unless your workplace is on the 20th floor, or the stairs are located at not a very safe place, then you have no option. But if possible, try to use the stairs as much as possible. It will take you more time, but as time go, you’ll take a shorter time to climb up the stairs, and you’ll also look better in shape.


5. Drink green tea.

Green tea is known to be the ultimate health drink, as they contain a lot of benefits, in the right portion of course. Research has shown that green tea contains ingredients in them that aids in the fat burning process, which also helps to boost one’s metabolism. The study alone is able to show that drinking green tea is excellent to aid in weight loss. Aside from that, green tea also contains a small amount of caffeine, which improves one’s physical performance, which is great for people who have the time to exercise.


6. Stay busy.

One way to prevent eating too much, or the easier way, is to be so busy with your work or school that the thought of eating doesn’t even come up in your mind. Of course, that doesn’t mean you’ll be more stressed out. Say you are so bored at home during the weekends and there is no work for you to be busy with. In this case, you could do something you like, say you love playing the piano, so just keep playing and be so into your music that you don’t even think of eating.


7. Sleep early.

Some people work out frequently and have a clean diet, but are still unable to lose that few last pounds. If that is the case for you, then it might be because you are not getting adequate sleep. Sleep is one of the most important factors for one to lose weight, after diet. When we are sleeping, it’s where most of the food is broken down, it’s where our muscles are recovering, and it’s where we regain our energy for the work we had done for the day. If we do not give enough time for these things to happen in our body, our body will signal that we are in survival mode and would want to retain those fats to protect ourselves. So if we have enough sleep every day, we would definitely see a difference.


These are those small habits that will aid in our weight loss. Of course, if you follow these few habits, but at the same time you are still eating junk at other times, nothing would change, in turn, it might even be worst. Remember that living healthy is a lifestyle. If you are committed to it in your life, that weight would slide right off you.
